  • Official Mass Effect 2 HD Launch Trailer 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on January 21, 2010 under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers

If there’s one thing that recent video games like Mass Effect 2 and Uncharted 2 prove, it’s that games are becoming more and more similar to big-budget Hollywood movies. Not only are games becoming more advanced in terms of special effects, but those advances in special effects are allowing for greater character development and epic story telling that didn’t exist in video games in the past. Take a look at the official Mass Effect 2 launch trailer and the production quality that makes it on par with any big-budget movie trailer out today. (more…)

  • Halo: Reach World Premier HD Trailer 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on December 13, 2009 under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers

Halo: Reach was this year’s most anticipated world premier trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards. Set for release in 2010, Halo: Reach will be the prequel to original Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox and Bungie’s last title in the Halo series. The graphics look to be a huge upgrade over this year’s Halo 3: ODST; however, there is no gameplay footage as the trailer only shows pre-rendered scenes. While the graphics look great, I still can’t help but notice that the game bears a similar resemblance to Gears of War with the improved graphics, helicopters, and added armor that the Spartans are wearing. Still, Reach looks very promising and something that every Xbox owner can look forward to, unlike this years Halo 3: ODST. Click the jump for the full trailer. (more…)

Images have leaked out through a series of tubes today of Halo: Reach, Bungie’s next and final (yeah right) installment in the Halo series. Someone has posted images on a message board, claiming that they were taken from a recent visit to Microsoft headquarters.

While the images aren’t in the best quality and could even be fake, they do show some interesting ideas that could pop up in the next installment of the series. Check out all the images after the jump. (more…)

After the credits of Halo 3: ODST there are two extra scenes. The first scene shows Johnson interrogating Vergil. The second, shows the Covenant finding the entrance for the portal controls to The Ark.

Is the extra scene worth sticking around for?

  • Metal Gear Franchise Finally Coming to Xbox 360 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on June 1, 2009 under Video Game News

Looks like it’s time to sell the Playstation 3 because Microsoft has officially stolen Sony’s biggest two exclusives. Last year Microsoft announced at E3 that the Final Fantasy franchise would be coming to the Xbox 360 with the release of Final Fantasy XIII. And this year, Microsoft has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be released for Xbox 360. Little is known about the game or if it will be an Xbox 360 exclusive, but it seems like the main character will not be Solid Snake and instead be Raiden, the protagonist from past Metal Gear games.
