Check out the latest trailer from Bungie showing off multiplayer footage for Halo: Reach. The trailer not only shows off new modes and features, but also confirms the May 3, 2010 date for the start of beta. The beta will be included on the disc of Halo 3: ODST, similar to how Bungie included the Halo 3 beta with copies of Crackdown. Things are looking good for the latest installment of Halo with many upgrades to the game, it even looks like Halo is going the Tribes route with the addition of jet packs. Halo: Reach World Premier HD Trailer
0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on December 13, 2009 under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers
Halo: Reach was this year’s most anticipated world premier trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards. Set for release in 2010, Halo: Reach will be the prequel to original Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox and Bungie’s last title in the Halo series. The graphics look to be a huge upgrade over this year’s Halo 3: ODST; however, there is no gameplay footage as the trailer only shows pre-rendered scenes. While the graphics look great, I still can’t help but notice that the game bears a similar resemblance to Gears of War with the improved graphics, helicopters, and added armor that the Spartans are wearing. Still, Reach looks very promising and something that every Xbox owner can look forward to, unlike this years Halo 3: ODST. Click the jump for the full trailer. (more…)

Halo: Reach Leaked Images
1 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on November 6, 2009 under Video Game News
Images have leaked out through a series of tubes today of Halo: Reach, Bungie’s next and final (yeah right) installment in the Halo series. Someone has posted images on a message board, claiming that they were taken from a recent visit to Microsoft headquarters.
While the images aren’t in the best quality and could even be fake, they do show some interesting ideas that could pop up in the next installment of the series. Check out all the images after the jump. (more…)

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: No Extras After the Credits
0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on October 17, 2009 under Extras During Credits, No Post-credits Scene, Playstation 3, Video Games
There are no extras during or after the credits of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves besides symbols found throughout the game used as line breaks. There are, however, some interesting “Thanks” given to other game development studios: Guerrilla Games (Killzone), Insomniac Games (Resistance), Sucker Punch (inFamous), Bungie (Halo) and Infinity Ward (Call of Duty).

After the credits of Halo 3: ODST there are two extra scenes. The first scene shows Johnson interrogating Vergil. The second, shows the Covenant finding the entrance for the portal controls to The Ark.
Is the extra scene worth sticking around for? (more…)

Bungie has just released a new trailer for the upcoming Halo 3: ODST game coming out for Xbox 360 on 9/22/09. The trailer is one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen for a video game and shows what a Halo movie could potentially look like. Hopefully the success of District 9 and this trailer can help inspire production of the Halo movie to pick up again. Hit the jump for the HD trailer. (more…)

District 9 Unique Marketing Campaign Begins
1 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on June 4, 2009 under Movie News, Movie Trailers
If you haven’t heard of District 9 yet, the marketing team behind Tristar Pictures is doing their best to inform you in some unique ways. Similar to the Cloverfield viral marketing campaign, District 9’s official site is supposedly run by Multi-National United, a fake company that will be featured in the film. There are also more fake websites, billboards, and other advertisements popping up as the release date gets closer. District 9 is set for release on August 14th, 2009 and is being directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson who were supposed to be working on the Halo movie, but due to a disagreement over distribution rights suspended production. Hit the jump for pictures, links and HD trailers. (more…)

Crackdown 2 Announced with Teaser Trailer
0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on June 1, 2009 under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers
If you’ve never heard of Crackdown, it was the game that everyone bought because it included the beta for Halo 3. The game itself was pretty much Grand Theft Auto on crack and turned out to actually be very good and not just a disc with access to the Halo 3 beta.
While I’m not a big fan of trailers that don’t show any actual gameplay footage and the fact that Crackdown 2 is being produced by a different studio than the original, hearing those old Crackdown sounds and that announcer’s voice in the trailer has me excited for Crackdown 2. Hit the jump for the official teaser trailer.

Bungie Shows Off TWO New Halo Games at E3 2009
1 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers
Everyone has been waiting on Bungie to show off Halo 3: ODST at this year’s E3, however nobody saw the announcement of a completely new Halo game coming. Apparently the boys at Bungie have been working overtime on a top secret new game in the Halo series.
Check out the video below of Bungie showing off gameplay from ODST and the first teaser trailer for Halo: Reach from today’s Microsoft Press Conference at E3 2009. Halo: ODST is set for release on September 22, 2010 which will include a multiplayer beta for Halo: Reach, similar to how Crackdown included the beta for Halo 3. Hit the jump for the full video. Xbox LIVE Most Played List for Week of March 23th

Call of Duty: World at War is holding on to the #1 spot for the second week in a row after the release of its latest map pack, while Resident Evil 5 slipped and Gears of War 2 has started climbing the chart due to last weeks big patch update. I’m guessing Gears of War 2 will jump to the #3 if not #2 spot on this week’s most played list after the release of the Snowblind Map Pack today. (more…)

New World of Warcraft Mountain Dew Flavors This Summer
0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on March 27, 2009 under Video Game News
After the success of Mountain Dew’s Halo 3 Game Fuel flavor back in 2007, Mountain Dew has announced plans to release two new World of Warcraft inspired drinks this Summer. The Horde Citrus Cherry flavor looks to be the same as Game Fuel, which is good because the original Game Fuel was amazing and I miss it. It’s been hard to find good soda at grocery stores ever since bottled water became so popular. I’m tired of only being able to find regular Mountain Dew at grocery stores! Some of my favorite sodas are the unique Mountain Dew flavors like Game Fuel, Voltage and Pitch Black. I’ll be buying these by the case come Summer.

Call of Duty: WaW has regained the top spot after the release of its Map Pack 1 last week. Gears of War 2 has slipped to the #5 spot, yet with the release of the Title Update 3 patch today and the map pack on the 31st, I’m betting Gears of War 2 will make a run for the #1 spot over the next two weeks. Xbox 360 most played Live titles for the week of March 16th: (more…)

It’s hard to believe, but after a year and a half Halo 3 is still topping the Xbox Live most played list. I’d expect Gears of War 2 to take the number 3 spot once the multiplayer Title Update 3 patch update is released on March 24th. (more…)
