  • Lost Planet 2 now mixed with Gears of War? 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on January 27, 2010 under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers

What the hell is going on? Just a couple days ago it was announced that the Game of the Year Uncharted 2 was was releasing a downloadable character pack for $4.99 that would allow people to play as many of the most recognizable characters from Playstation’s biggest games in multiplayer.

Now, Capcom has released a teaser trailer that shows Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago from the Gears of War series fighting in the Lost Planet 2 universe. The trailer ends with the Gears of War logo behind the Lost Planet 2 logo. Will this be a feature that comes standard with the game, be downloadble content or online multiplayer only? Your guess is as good as mine cause this trailer has me left scratching my head and wondering why all these games are turning into next-gen Super Smash Bros. Check out the trailer after the break. • Halo: Reach World Premier HD Trailer 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on December 13, 2009 under Video Game News, Video Game Trailers

Halo: Reach was this year’s most anticipated world premier trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards. Set for release in 2010, Halo: Reach will be the prequel to original Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox and Bungie’s last title in the Halo series. The graphics look to be a huge upgrade over this year’s Halo 3: ODST; however, there is no gameplay footage as the trailer only shows pre-rendered scenes. While the graphics look great, I still can’t help but notice that the game bears a similar resemblance to Gears of War with the improved graphics, helicopters, and added armor that the Spartans are wearing. Still, Reach looks very promising and something that every Xbox owner can look forward to, unlike this years Halo 3: ODST. Click the jump for the full trailer. (more…)

Epic has just announced that on July 28, 2009 they will be releasing the “All Fronts Collection” for Gears of War 2. The collection will include every map pack already released (Flashback, Combustible and Snowblind) plus seven new maps in the new “Dark Corners” map pack. (more…)

  • Xbox LIVE Most Played List for Week of March 23th 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on March 31, 2009 under Video Game News

Call of Duty: World at War is holding on to the #1 spot for the second week in a row after the release of its latest map pack, while Resident Evil 5 slipped and Gears of War 2 has started climbing the chart due to last weeks big patch update. I’m guessing Gears of War 2 will jump to the #3 if not #2 spot on this week’s most played list after the release of the Snowblind Map Pack today. (more…)

  • Resident Evil 5 Killed by Dated Controls and Lack of Features 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on March 27, 2009 under Video Game Reviews

Four years ago I played Resident Evil 4 and was blown away. Not only did the game breathe new life into the Resident Evil series, but it took a risk with a new camera style that previous 3rd person shooters had never thought to use. The risk turned out to be well worth it as Resident Evil 4 went on to win multiple Game of the Year awards and the over the shoulder camera style became the new standard in 3rd person shooters. Game developer CliffyB (Cliff Belinski) even cited Resident Evil 4’s over the shoulder style as one of the key inspirations in the making of the now infamous Gears of War franchise. (more…)

  • Xbox LIVE Most Played List for Week of March 16th 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on March 24, 2009 under Video Game News

Call of Duty: WaW has regained the top spot after the release of its Map Pack 1 last week. Gears of War 2 has slipped to the #5 spot, yet with the release of the Title Update 3 patch today and the map pack on the 31st, I’m betting Gears of War 2 will make a run for the #1 spot over the next two weeks. Xbox 360 most played Live titles for the week of March 16th: (more…)

  • Halo 3 Slays Xbox LIVE Most Played List for the Week of March 9th 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on March 17, 2009 under Video Game News

It’s hard to believe, but after a year and a half Halo 3 is still topping the Xbox Live most played list. I’d expect Gears of War 2 to take the number 3 spot once the multiplayer Title Update 3 patch update is released on March 24th. (more…)

  • Gears of War: Extra Rap Song During Credits 0 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on November 20, 2008 under Extras During Credits, No Post-credits Scene, PC

During the credits of Gears of War, the rap song Yeah, bring it on sucka, this my kinda shit” by Cole Train is played. The song is not actually played anytime during the game besides during the credits. There are also pictures of the staff with unique thank you messages, but no extra scenes during or after the credits.

Are the extras during the credits worth waiting around for?
