Halo: Reach E3 Trailer Shows Off New Gameplay in Space

Looks like Bungie has been keeping a big secret from the media since announcing Halo: Reach back at last years E3 Expo. Turns out that the new jet packs and abilities aren’t the biggest updates to Bungie’s final installment in the series. Reach’s latest trailer showcases fighting in space, and not just shooting guns in zero-gravity levels, but actual piloting of spaceships in large-scale epic space battles. Halo Reach “Birth of a Spartan” Live-Action Extended HD Trailer

This Tuesday (May 3, 2010) the beta for Halo Reach begins on Xbox 360 and to start building hype for their upcoming blockbuster, Bungie has released yet another live-action trailer. Just like Halo 3′s “Landfall” and Halo 3: ODST’s “We Are ODST” trailers, “Birth of a Spartan” is a glimpse of what a future Halo movie could possibly look like.

Although “Birth of a Spartan” isn’t the best of the three live-action trailers and could have used some more action like the “We Are ODST” trailer, it’s still pretty epic showing the process of making a Spartan III soldier in the Halo universe.

Bungie April Fool’s Video Teases “Something Big”

To go along with the latest trend in movies and video games of developers teasing fans with random mysterious websites and images, Bungie has linked the following picture on their twitter. The tweet from Bungie says, “Just got this mysterious image and word that something big is dropping this week?!”

Could this be an image of Master Chief from the upcoming Halo: Reach Xbox 360 game? Guess we’ll have to wait until later this week to find out.

It’s worth noting that the tweet states that “something big is dropping this week” and Thursday is April Fool’s Day, a day that developers love playing pranks by posting fake information about future games. Hit the jump for the HQ picture of what might be Master Chief in Halo: Reach.

New Halo: Reach Multiplayer Trailer

Check out the latest trailer from Bungie showing off multiplayer footage for Halo: Reach. The trailer not only shows off new modes and features, but also confirms the May 3, 2010 date for the start of beta. The beta will be included on the disc of Halo 3: ODST, similar to how Bungie included the Halo 3 beta with copies of Crackdown. Things are looking good for the latest installment of Halo with many upgrades to the game, it even looks like Halo is going the Tribes route with the addition of jet packs. Halo: Reach World Premier HD Trailer

Halo: Reach was this year’s most anticipated world premier trailer at the Spike Video Game Awards. Set for release in 2010, Halo: Reach will be the prequel to original Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox and Bungie’s last title in the Halo series. The graphics look to be a huge upgrade over this year’s Halo 3: ODST; however, there is no gameplay footage as the trailer only shows pre-rendered scenes. While the graphics look great, I still can’t help but notice that the game bears a similar resemblance to Gears of War with the improved graphics, helicopters, and added armor that the Spartans are wearing. Still, Reach looks very promising and something that every Xbox owner can look forward to, unlike this years Halo 3: ODST. Click the jump for the full trailer.

Halo: Reach Leaked Images

Images have leaked out through a series of tubes today of Halo: Reach, Bungie’s next and final (yeah right) installment in the Halo series. Someone has posted images on a message board, claiming that they were taken from a recent visit to Microsoft headquarters.

While the images aren’t in the best quality and could even be fake, they do show some interesting ideas that could pop up in the next installment of the series. Check out all the images after the jump.

Bungie Shows Off TWO New Halo Games at E3 2009

Everyone has been waiting on Bungie to show off Halo 3: ODST at this year’s E3, however nobody saw the announcement of a completely new Halo game coming. Apparently the boys at Bungie have been working overtime on a top secret new game in the Halo series.

Check out the video below of Bungie showing off gameplay from ODST and the first teaser trailer for Halo: Reach from today’s Microsoft Press Conference at E3 2009. Halo: ODST is set for release on September 22, 2009 which will include a multiplayer beta for Halo: Reach, similar to how Crackdown included the beta for Halo 3.
