Our Score:
The emotional polar opposite of Best Picture No Country For Old Men, this endearing teen pregnancy comedy is definitely the most appropriate nominee in the category to bring a date to (but then again, I haven’t seen Atonement yet; edit: saw Atonement, didn’t like it). While Juno boasts a soundtrack that’s steadily climbing up the musical cult status ladder, an Oscar-winning script, and a strong supporting cast (especially Jennifer Garner), the talk of the town is Ellen Page’s Oscar-nominated performance as the titular character. Precocious in a refreshingly non-annoying way, Page admitted herself that she doesn’t deserve an Oscar, but who’s seen that other French movie anyway?
