Mass Effect 2 (2010): Multiple Endings and Extras After the Credits
5 CommentsPosted by Paul Curtin on January 27, 2010

After the credits of Mass Effect 2 there is a notice saying that the player can either continue playing the same game and complete any missions that may have been skipped during the first play-though or start a new game with the current character’s stats. There are no extra scenes during or after the credits, but there is more dialog between characters if you choose to continue and talk to them on the Normandy.

There are also multiple endings depending on the decisions the player makes throughout the game. Doing different character’s loyalty missions and buying upgrades can alter the storyline and increase chances of characters surviving the suicide mission. Multiple characters can die during the suicide mission based on choices made and even the main character, Shepard can die. Little is known about how Mass Effect 3 will play out if Shepard does die in ME2 and a save game is imported to ME3; however, BioWare has stated that if Shepard dies, it will transfer to the Mass Effect 3 storyline. Hit the jump to see both endings.

The game screwed me, I made all the right choices, all the upgrades and maxed out my paragon; yet, it randomly showed Mordin lying dead on the ground while everyone was escaping the suicide mission… eh I guess he was kind of annoying anyways, not having him in ME3 won’t be too bad.

Also, anybody notice how the planet/star or whatever behind the Illusive Man changes colors from red to blue based on a player’s reputation? Very strange…

The star changed colors because it was a red giant and it is burning out. its just simple star life. but im sure it plays a significant role in ME3

@Mitchell cox: uh do you know how long the process takes for a star in the red giant phase to burn out? its not possible for the color of the star to change color due to burn out in the time frame that the game takes place so Paul is right.

Have you seen that the Illusive Man’s shape when he sits and faces the star seems like a Reaper shape??? It really freaked me out lol, but i think it means it is somewhat related to Sovereign i guess….
