Speaking of kicking ass, Matthew Vaughn’s comic book adaptation Kick-Ass only opened to $20 million its first weekend back in April, and was believed to be somewhat of a failure at the box office. Many industry analyst believed the PG-13 Scott Pilgrim would trump Miller’s film due to Kick-Ass‘ R-rating which prevented the younger audience who it was directly marketed to from the seeing the film. But it looks like the PG-13 rating didn’t help Pilgrim at the box office and the teenagers who it was targeted towards were all still on vacation. Skyline is from directors Colin and Greg Strause (Aliens vs Predator – Requiem) and stars Donald Faison, Eric Balfour, David Zayas, Scottie Thompson, and Brittany Daniel. Set for release this year on November 12th, Skyline is described as:

This time back in 2008, Nolan’s The Dark Knight was still going strong and #1 for the fourth week in a row at the box office. While Inception is far from Batman‘s four week total of $450 million, Inception‘s $227 million is still a huge success for Nolan, who can now focus on directing the third installment in the Batman series. YouTube user Peatman is the genius behind the idea of taking clips of Star Wars with Darth Vader and replacing James Earl Jones’ voice with classic sound clips of Arnold Schwarzenegger. As a result, we get Darth Schwarzenegger, and pure awesomeness. The only problem with the user-made clip, is that it’s not long enough, we need an entire Star Wars with Arnold soundboards dubbed over the original voice acting! She ends up in mental institution in Brattleboro, Vermont and while there she starts to imagine alternative reality. She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is caught by a vile man. She has 5 days to escape before being lobotomized. In order to cope with the situation, she enters the hyper-real world of her imagination, and the lines between reality and dream begin to blur. She is joined with friends who are inmates from the institution. Lessons learned in the said fantasy world could help the girls escape their real-world fate.

Marvel announced that Norton is no longer attached to the series, and Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac) is officially the new Bruce Banner aka the Incredible Hulk. In addition to Marvel’s announcement about Mark Ruffalo being cast as the new Hulk, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) also made it up on stage to confirm that he will be playing another one of Marvel’s superheros, Hawkeye.
